The Harris Family: 4 Weeks Old!

I can't believe Laney is 4 Weeks old today. It seems like it has flown by. How come the pregnancy did not fly by like that! I swear I felt like I was pregnant for 2 years! So this week we did not do much but some fun stuff happened! Laney got her first bottle on Sunday night and she took it fine. She was a bit confused when Jason got her and fed her the bottle. Like why is my Momma's milk coming from Daddy? Hopefully she will continue to take the bottle without any problems. I have not given her another. Maybe I will today. She is so alert now too! Some things she likes are her bath! She loves to soak and have her hair washed! She hated it at first but when we started actually letting there be a little water in the tub instead of sponge bathing she loved it. Also the hair dryer calms her down and she loves it. Just the sound, I don't blow her or anything! She will sit there mesmerized by the sound and is staring at these canvases I have on my wall. She also is getting on a better sleep schedule. The past few days she has slept pretty well at night with a 5 hour stretch between feedings and then up for a few hours in the morning and then down for a 2 -3 hour nap around lunch then up for a bit again. I hope this continues! Her nap also has been in her crib!! Hopefully we can get her to sleep in her crib at night easily when we move her from our room. Also the other night when I was undressing her for her bath, I was looking for any identifying marks on her. Parker has 2. He has a darker round spot on his stomach like the pigment in his skin is darker (I have a spot like this on my ankle) and then he has a v like freckle on his foot which I immediately saw on him when he was born. So far I have not seen anything on Laney. I did not find anything that night but I had her kinda upright while I was looking on her back and Laney so put weight on her legs and was standing on her feet. I could not believe that she was putting weight on her legs! I yelled for Jason and he was like wow she has strong little legs! I knew there was a reason I always felt her kick so hard and all the time! Parker's playset finally got completed this week and he loves it! He is excited too that it is spring and time for flowers! When there is a new bloom in our yard, he gets so excited. He loves to help water them too. Although he waters himself pretty good while watering the flowers. He also had a blast on Sunday when we got a flood around here and the streets were kinda emerged in water. He kept yelling "Cool!" when we went through the water and it was going everywhere. And for those of you praying for my friend Lesley and her little boy Bryant, they are home now! Praise God!! Please continue to keep them in your prayers!
