Well, this week has been great. Laney took a while to actually get here, 14 hours! But I had the epidural so I was good during most the day. Really I got the epidural before I was in real pain because the nurse wanted to insert an internal contraction monitor and catheter but I did not want to go through that without the epi! Once Laney finally got where she needed to be, I only had to push 5-10 minutes so that part was way easier than the 1 hour of pushing with Parker. The wost part of the day pain wise to me was after everything when the nurse was YANKING off the epidural tape and POUNDED down on my stomach to make sure no blood clots were left. Ok, so maybe she wasn't being that brutal but it hurt like HECK! They should give you an extra shot epidural just for that! It was such a surreal experience and I just cried when they laid her on my chest for the first time. Once Laney and I got all cleaned up, the family came back to see her for the first time. Parker loved her and even told me I shouldn't put my finger in her mouth (I was just trying to see how her sucking reflexes were!). He loved on her and wanted to hold her. After about 30 minutes of picture taking, I kicked them out to try and feed her. I did not even wait on a lactation nurse, it quickly all came back to me what to do and Laney did great! No problems with her eating. So far life at home has been great. The first few nights she kept us up more but lastnight was good with her sleeping 3 hours straight then up to eat and right back to sleep for another 3 hours. To me 3 hours is great since she is breastfeed. It seems like Parker was more on that 2 hour schedule. Today the girl has been sleeping most the day so I am afraid about tonight! I will come back and post a 1 week old picture from today when she wakes up for 2 seconds!

Laney is so beautiful and I am so excited for you guys! I am so sorry I have not called but we will get together soon. Have a great weekend and give that sweet thing a kiss for me. God is so good!
