The Big Debate

From day one everyone has been wondering who does Chase look like? The dark hair just threw me for a loop and I had a hard time telling! Today Chase is 2 months old. After his bath he was just a smiling and talking to me! I snapped this picture and I was like oh my goodness I have this almost identical picture at almost the same time with the other 2! So take your pick who does Chase look like? In case you were wondering the picture order is Laney, Parker and then Chase!!! They all were between 9 and 10 weeks old when I took these pictures! Oh and todays stats on Chase at 2 months old....13 pounds 5 ounces and 23 inches long!

The Past 7 Weeks in Review

I know it has been a while but goodness it has been crazy. Lets see....Chase came home, getting use to having 3 kids, Parker starting first grade, Parker starting travel baseball and somewhere in there we are trying to run a business! LOL! Adjusting to 3 has been much harder than the adjusting to 2. That was easy to me! I think the age difference though between Parker and Laney made it easy! Not easy with a newborn and 2 year old around! They are such blessings though and keep us laughing. Just look at the pictures below! You will find Laney has started nursing her baby dolls, wants to help with everything like dishes and laundry and is into everything! Parker is a big help. He is the only reason we actually made it through the grocery store with all 3 of them! Laney and Chase in one buggy and Parker pushing the other where the groceries went! We are having a great time watching Parker play on the traveling baseball team! He is doing great! Even hit in the winning 2 runs in one game! Anyway, enjoy the pictures I could go on but in 5 minutes Laney might have a toliet overflowed, on top of the countertop or trying to shove the pacifier in Chasse's mouth! Ready to go home!

About to head home from the hospital!

Laney's Thumb

2 weeks ago, Laney was lying in our bed and I looked over and noticed her right thumb looked funny. I grabbed her hand and tried to move her thumb to the straight position or "thumbs up" position and could not budge it. Jason then tried and nothing. I asked her teachers that day if they had noticed and they said yes but thought she just held it like that. I got so upset that morning thinking something major could be wrong with my baby girl and felt like a horrible mother because I just had noticed it! It is her right thumb and we have always said she was left handed because she does everything with her left hand but what if this was why she does everything left handed! How long has it been like this I have no idea and I can't describe to you the feeling that something could be wrong with her. Of course my kids have been sick before and Laney even in the hospital but it just was this whole other feeling that she could have something life changing wrong with her. My heart for sure goes out to my friends that have dealt with such a thing for sure! Anyway, we went to our pediatrician and Laney has trigger finger. It is no big deal, it is a tendon in her thumb that is stuck basically. She suggested therapy. We went today to a pediatric therapist (she was awesome by the way!) and she evaluated her and said because we can't even budge her thumb straight (she can move it down just not up) there is nothing she can really do except splint it and given her age of 2 that is not an ideal thing and it may not work at all. Best option is surgery. The therapist did say Laney was by no means delayed in her fine motor skills. She uses her right hand and thumb well. She pinches things with her thumb and it is not affecting her movements but it does need to be fixed. We will go to an orthopedic after our pediatrcian gets the report and refers us to one. The surgery is suppose to be a quick and easy one kinda like tubes so no need to worry but guess Miss Laney bug will have a little surgery soon. See below her sweet little finger! Her thumb. She can move her thumb down and to the side just can't give ya a "thumbs up"

The Big Brother and Sister meets Baby Brother!

So we made everyone wait till we got in the room and our family came in to reveal Boy/Girl. Since I had a C-section, Jason and I were in recovery with Chase for about an hour. For that hour we got so many texts and calls but Jason would not budge and did not reveal boy/girl. We wanted to tell our family in person when they walked in, so when they came in the room Jason videoed him telling them all "It's a Boy!" He did not wait till he was all the way in the room so I just heard their reaction which were squeals of delight. It was so fun and then they came to see him. Parker was a bit nervous at first and Laney well she was down right scared and would not come near me the entire time I was in the hospital. It made me so sad! She was afraid of the bed though and all the things on me. She loved the baby and so did Parker. She wanted to hold baby all the time. Enjoy the pics below of the brother/sister at the hospital! Stay tuned...lots more to post! My boys and me!

Laney meeting Chase for first time. She just doesn't know about all of this!

Look at that face. It is like can I please just get out of here and go to bed! It was about 8 pm!

And below her warming up a bit
Parker and his first meeting of his baby brother. See he was a bit timid!
Our attempt of a family of 5 picture. Laney was not feeling it!
I still can't believe we are party of 5!
And of course I had to get them matching big brother/sister shirts. Had to be creative though since Parker is way to old for appliques but I think they turned out cute!

Chase's Birthday!!

All I can say is Wow! This last month has been amazing and amazingly crazy! Our family of 5 is now complete with our " little man" although not so little for a newborn! He was born on July 6 at 5:35 by c-section. The night before I was up ALL night long with some sort of contraction, cramps and backpain. I called my OB and the nurse said you need to come get checked. I was scheduled for a c-section on the 8th. So we went to Memphis all packed just to stay the night in a hotel but the Dr. said, I had progressed more and there was no sense in sending me home because it would probably happen in the middle of the night. So he said lets do this today! I was so nervous about my first c-section but he was just measuring much bigger than any baby I had ever had so drs did not want to chance it. I am so glad they are much smarter than me! As all of you know, we did not know if Chase was a boy or girl. I have to say it was so amazing to find out at birth how I did. The dr. said "whatever it is, it has a lot of hair!" Jason raised up, looked over the curtain as they were pulling the baby out and all I heard is him saying "It's a boy, Its a boy!!" That was so awesome hearing it from Jason I just can't tell you! The nurses all said what a big boy and kept talking about his big hands and Jason did too! Seemed like 10 minutes of them cleaning him up and when they took him to the scales is when I saw him for the first time! All I saw was all this black hair! He was precious! He was a big ole 9 pounds, 37 cm (15 inch) head and 14 1/2 inch chest! Yes, thank goodness for c-sections! Now that I am in a decent routine, I will post more soon I promise so check back for the big brother/sister reactions and our first month home!!! Getting cleaned up and my bracelets on!
Look at that hair!

Yep, I was 9 pounds!

A little Father/Son Time

The past few months Parker and Jason have really been spending lots of time together. Jason has always taken Parker to do things guys love to do but since Parker is older now and out for summer they really have been doing lots. Parker loves to golf and Jason takes him to play often and every July 4th our Country Club has a family golf scramble where any age can play. Parker and Jason along with a few others on their team won it this year! Parker was so proud! He said he sunk a long putt for them! Jason also this past week took Parker fishing. Parker all on his own caught his first bass! He was pumped about that too! They also have been spending lots of time together playing the Wii at lunch and at night. They (well mostly Jason and Parker watching) have finished Super Mario Wii and Mario Galaxy 2 this summer. They are working on Zelda. I am not sure who is having more fun. It is kinda funny...Jason hasn't been much into video games since I have known him. They have lots of fun together! We are so thankful to have a Daddy like Jason! I just love that he is into all these things and is sharing them with Parker! If it were hunting season, I am sure they would have been in a deer stand too lately!

Oh and baby update is there is no baby yet! But I am scheduled for July 8th so stay tuned! We will have a sweet baby girl or boy really soon!
