So this week has been interesting. I get a call from school saying Parker fell off the monkey bars and they don't think his wrist is broken but he would not stop crying and saying it hurt if I would come up there and look at it and see if I could get him to be himself again. I get there and Mrs. Field says this just is not like him, I don't think it is broken but wanted to call you. I look at his wrist, not bruised or swollen. He even moves it ok up and down and wiggles his fingers but says it hurts bad when he twists it and is in obvious pain. So I asked him if he wanted to go take a picture of his bone to see if it was broken and he said yes. He must hurt wanting to go to the dr. We go in and I tell the nurse when we pass by her why we are there and she takes him back to get x-rayed. Our NP walked in and said I hate to tell ya this but it is broken! I couldn't believe it! I thought broken bones made you all swollen and black/blue! We were so happy to hear that the Ortho from a nearby town that is really good was going to be in the clinic that afternoon. So we went home and came back later that afternoon. He looked at the x-ray and in 2 seconds said yes it is broken! Called a buckle fracture. He is in a short cast so he can still do about anything. We thought this was the end of t-ball but NOPE! Parker is such an athlete he can still hit the ball great and just uses his cast as a glove! LOL!! No stopping him! Bathtime is a pain but we are managing! Also tonight he lost his first tooth! This week is full of firsts!
Parker lost his first tooth...pulled it himself! 4/2/2010!
