Single Parenting

Well...we have been doing lots of summer things and trying to stay cool. This past week has been HOT here! Too hot to do anything outside! Jason went on a national bowling tournament trip this week and was gone for 7 days..it was in Las Vegas and you know he will not step foot on a plane so they drove. Yeah, I know they are CRAZY! It took them 24 hours to drive. Anyway, I have survived the week but much prefer having Jason around that is for sure! Parker has not been acting his sweet self. He has been in trouble a lot but this week! He will be here in a few hours and I can not wait till he gets home! I also have had to drive his truck around this week (they took my suburban) and answer his phone. I have a new respect for his job. It is stressful dealing with everyone and making everyone happy!

The past 2 weeks, Parker has been finishing up t-ball and they finally won a game! It was so fun..they boys were so happy and excited! You would have thought they won the world series or something. Parker has been hitting the ball so well..out to the fence. If he would only run fast and not watch the ball, he could have made a few triples and a home run or two. He also is getting better at fielding when he is behaving. He has made at least 6 outs by stopping the ball and tagging the runner out on 3rd! Not bad for his first year! He does need to work on listening to his coaches and not going after every ball. Parker for sure is not scared of the ball and wants everyone! Parker also this summer has been to baseball camp, art camp and soccer camp. Soccer camp was this past week while Jason was gone and he was not the best behaved thing. I don't know if it was the heat this week or Jason gone! Next week Parker has basketball camp and VBS..thank goodness Jason will be home!

Laney is good..she is running all over the place. She LOVES food..she will eat anything! She tends to eat her veggies first and loves green beans! I think she says lots of things...I just don't understand them. She says bye bye which she says all the time if she sees the door open, is putting her shoes on or anything like that. She points to babies and says baby all the time real well. She also says Rebel really good too! I think she is saying "bubba" for brother but still trying to figure it out. She loves books. Today she got one of her favorites Brown Bear Brown Bear and was looking at it and I swear she was saying "bra ber bra ber" She kept saying it over and over! She will get a book and take it to Jason and say "Ree me" translation Read to me. I just love this age!! She starting playing peek a boo by covering her eyes with her hands..So cute! The girl can climb too! She climbed all the way up their playset and loves doing it! She is too funny too. She "talks" on the phone..gets the tv clicker and points it at the tv like she knows what she is doing and tries to put her bows and shoes on. It is so funny!

Daddy sharing his fudge pop...yummy!
Parker was so ready to go swimming and he wanted Laney to come and was helping her get dressed. He quickly found out it is hard to dress a moving target!

Parker has really been wanting to help cook lately. here we are making my moms famous yummy brownies

Finally a trip to Mcdonalds! We won!
